It’s been a while since the last post – however this has been a very active week for time sensitive news, warranting a trip out of hiatus.
Important WordPress Upgrades… Is your WordPress site up to date? #security
There was a security vulnerability discovered with WordPress and a number of popular plugins this week, prompting a large scale effort among the WordPress community.
If you have not been keeping up with regular WordPress and plugin upgrades – especially if you have not done so in the last day or two – we highly recommend running a full site backup and upgrade as soon as possible. You can find more specifics on the issue at the links below:

Important Google Updates… Is your web site mobile friendly? #mobilegeddon
In other big news, Google just started rolling out a new update yesterday, that will impact where your site ranks on mobile searches.
Mobile responsive web sites will display a “Mobile-friendly” tag, showing users which sites will be easy to read on their smartphones. More importantly, however, mobile friendly web sites will start ranking higher in mobile search results – therefore pushing down the rankings of non-mobile sites.
If your web site is not yet mobile responsive, now is a good time to look into making the change, to ensure that your site isn’t essentially penalized by Google as part of their latest update. You can learn more about “mobilegeddon” at the link below:
